Approaching wildlife
Animals notice you from different distances – sneaking lets you get much closer. Deer outrun any survivor, so sneak up rather than chase. Wolves hunt you.
Skinning a carcass
Bring a blade, get close and use the skinning action. What you get is placed in the carcass for you to collect.
| Animal | Harvest |
|---|---|
| Chicken | 2 × Chicken Breast 10 × Chicken Feathers 1 × Bones |
| Deer | 10 × Deer Steak 1 × Deer Pelt 2 × Guts 1 × Lard 1 × Bones |
| Wild boar | 13 × Boar Steak 1 × Boar Pelt 2 × Guts 1 × Lard 2 × Bones |
| Wolf | 9 × Wolf Steak 1 × Wolf Pelt 2 × Guts 1 × Lard 1 × Bones |
A badly damaged carcass gives less. Cook raw meat; meat from predators stays riskier.
Keep the useful leftovers
Bones make fishing hooks, guts make rope, and rope plus a long stick makes a fishing rod. See the recipe book.
